The Plastic ‘PUPPY’ Sandals (2009)

23_08_2009_106_002_013  This summer a number of top designers have made it possible for customers to revisit a summer staple that many thought would forever remain a childhood memory: the plastic sandal.

Brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, See by ChloƩ an23_08_2009_106_002_011d Tory Burch have all added plastic footwear to their collections.

Behind this new designer interest in plastic, or jelly, shoes are children's shoes and the sandal brand Crocs. Even though they are not plastic , Crocs are seen by many as a modern take on jelly sandals.

"Because of Crocs these molded plastic shoes are now widely accepted footwear, which makes it O.K. for designers to come out with their own styles.

The modern versatility of plastic has lead to imaginative shoes in new shapes and colours. These include chunky high-heeled strappy sandals from Sigerson Morrison, Lacoste shoes with a curlicue strap designed with Zaha Hadid, Kartell's cherry red flats and Chanel's translucent black camellia-covered san dals.

Vampire Look With Red Blood..

VAMPIRE LOOK Red lips have always been a symbol of sensuality, and now with the Twilight wave sweeping all over the world. Blood red lips or vampire lips are already making a statement, here is how to get it right if you want to jump on to the bandwagon.

There are a huge variety of red hues, so make sure you pick yours carefully. There are reds with a hint of black, purple or even blue so pick one that matches your skin.

Primp your lips by cleaning it with moisturiser to wipe away all the dry skin.

Since we're looking at volume -apply the colour straight from the tube don't use a brush Finish up with some clear gloss to make your lips stand out.

Always use a lip liner, otherwise the colour will bleed and you will end up looking like a vampire.

Do not use blush -- it takes away from the red on the lips.

An extremely pale face is a must, so it's alright to overdo the foundation a little.

For the eyes: Go with a winged eyeliner look, preferably only on the upper lid as even adding a line of kajal will make your eyes look too dark.

Clothes For Multi-Task

With personal and professional lives blurring due to extended work hours, it is apt to go in for clothes which can `multi-task' and have a smart, casual appeal.

  • Here are some tips on how to select such outfits: The choice of your clothes depends a lot on your office ambience. But jackets are a perfect bet to get a funky yet relaxed look. With the shoulder padding jackets , one can opt for two button jackets with different cuts and styles like low shawl collar etc. It's all about the kind of detailing.
  • Women can pay emphasis on thin belts and scarves to lift up their office look and look all set to even hit a pub after work. Wear sleek and trendy jewellery.
  • scarves on a formal shirt looks very graceful for office and a party.
  • High waisted skirts with well-cut blouses look smart. Choose between closed-toe shoes, pumps and mid heel sandals.
  • Men can loosen up a little on weekends and go in for jeans, tees and camouflage shoes. Lightweight fabrics like washed linen and wrinkle resistant clothes can help you look presentable.

Stefania Fernandez

High Waist Pants Are In…

Trousers

This is a fashion trend for petite young girls with a lot of confidence. High waist pants are in, and every fashionista worth her `waist' is lapping it up to the last `t'. With flared bottoms or with tapering ends, these pants which accentuate your mid-riff and are a takeoff from the 80s' fashion are making huge waves in the fashion circles. At dinner parties or at formal dose, these pants will get you all the attention that you want, and much more. A pair of high waist pants in classic black is a wise investment this season.
Sport them with formal shirts at dress-up occasions and have everyone admiring your svelte figure. So give those jeans a break and make everyone look your way with these pants.

Feet Essentials For Guys….

Nothing out of the ordinary...

Just five shoes that men should own IT IS SO ESSENTIAL TO GET THE RIGHT PAIR THAT CAN BE A REAL DEAL MAKERguys1

Buying shoes is always going to be a headache for men -- they're expensive, tricky to get right and it takes hours to find the right pair. Moreover poor quality shoes can lead to foot, ankle and a whole lot of other pains. Yet it is so essential to get the right pair of shoes that can be a real deal maker. Whether it's smartening up the shabbiest of outfits or just make you feel comfortable.

So what does your shoe rack need to ensure you're prepared for every occasion? We break it down for you with the help of ace designers from across the country.

Formal: "The black, leather Oxford shoe is ubiquitous in the West. A pair of good quality brogues (low-heeled shoes made of heavy leather) can set you back a couple of rupees, but it's very essential to own at least one.

They can even last you a decade or more if treated right! If you want to try out something a little different, complement a simple pair with a matching pair in tan, brown, even grey. From everyday business to weddings.

Go for ankle footwear. Since pants are getting shorter, ankle footwear looks really good."

Sneakers/Trainers: The cornerstone of casual footwear.

"A good pair of sneakers should feel comfortable but sporty."

Informal: Slip guys2on loafers and moccasins are incredibly stylish, but a little more casual. These are great for a night on the town, a relaxed date or even meeting colleagues outside of work hours. They tend to be sleeker and slimmer than formal shoes, but still look sharp and chic.

Boots: "If you're an outdoors person, you've got to get your boots right. Comfort yet durability is the key while looking at boots (although a pair of rubber boots probably won't be that bad either!).

Slippers/sandal's: I think kolhapuri chappals and flip flops go with both Western and Indian wear. Shoes are not appropriate for the weather. Since they are so closed, they're not suited for Indian weather.Ideally they should wear chappals. These go with any kind of clothes . "Flips flops are the way to go.
