For more then 10 years Manish Malhotra has brought classic , cool Indian apparels to the consumers around the India. His designs give time –honored classics a fresh look , and his discerning taste has provided the foundation for the growth in  fashion industry.

His vision and leadership as principal designer has become one of very few recognized designer not just in fashion industry but also in Film industry.

Born in the year 1965, he was in love with fashion from his young age. He experimented his dressing styles and ideas on his mother by advising her to dress up to his choice. Manish took up small-modeling assignments while studying at Elphinstone College in Mumbai. Later on he started his career as a professional model. After some that he joined Equinox, a small fashion store in Bandra locality and there he learnt all aspects of design, display, sales, customer services and workshop liaison. He took care of every aspect right from attending the client, shopping for fabric and dressing the model.

He started his real carrier in the year 1990.  He first designed to Juhi Chawala in the film Swarg,but he got the real fame after the designing Urmila Matondkar for the movie Rangeela. After his successful stint in the Bollywood, Manish ventured into the mainstream designing arena in the year 1998 with his high-profile couture store .

He was awarded the first and only Filmfare Award for Costume Design for Urmila Matondkar's look in Rangeela, the Showtime Opinion Poll Award for Raja Hindustani, the Siemen's Viewer's Choice Award for Dil To Pagal Hai, the Lux-Zee Cine Award and the Bollywood Award in New York for his work in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He has also been graced with Indira Priyadarshini Memorial Award for his contribution to the fashion industry, felicitated by National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi and the Indo American Society for his contribution to fashion designing, and was also named the most Stylish Designer Of the Year at the Elle Style Awards in 1999.

Manish Malhotra has managed to achieve that delicate balance between designing for film, as well as haute couture. Now with Sheetal Design Studio, Manish wants to conquer further horizons in the fashion industry. His plans include a prĂȘt a porter line for women along with his couture label and also a couture & prĂȘt line for men .

Manish Malhotra has adopted the tiny village of Mijwan in UP, where 45 girls will be working for him. This is not about charity but he want to showcase their talent by putting their chikankari on display for international clients and movie stars ,He made stars  wearing their designs in his Fashion Shows . He also took part in many other charity shows.
