Anand Kabra

Anand-Kabra

Anand Kabra was born in a Marwari family. His father was a doctor. He enrolled for medicine but opted out after his first year. He then went to London School of Fashion to pursue fashion designing. His designs are born from a deeply personal space. His collections, always reflections of his own inner being. Anand says darkness is a perception. Often it takes a trip into the shadows to actually see the light..seeing beauty even in the dreary -  perhaps its something to do with dying a runaway medical student.

He was sitting in the cafeteria at the London college of fashion, where  he learned about form and design when he discovered that there is no fixed form ,no definite design. splotches of tomato sauce and coffee stains in a checkered tablecloth and a waif-like policewomen effectively wielding her baton….proveded the ultimate inspiration for him.

unpredictable.the word is definitive.it resonates. It reflects him, his  work ,his style. Art is fluid. Picture were never meant to be painted in boxes. Colour is emotive for him.colour is eloquent , dramatic or diffident. the human form lends depth and substance to colour. The light and the darkness the emotions and feelings ,the dimensions and possibilities of colour are in  endless. He exist as much in colour as colour does in him.

His philosophy

it’s the single thought you unearth after delving into a sea ideas, it’s the thread I choose to weave into each creation.

The merging of previously distinct fashion borders is really a mirror of the new undivided mind. The western silhouette is as much part of our indian-ness ,as is the indian ethos in international style.

His collection is placed in different stores like Aza fashions , Ensembles , Ogaan , Also aat no.8 , Elahe , Maiah , Collage , Evoluzione . His main office is at Punjagutta , Hyderabad.
