It is common for all of us to spend most of our time sitting in front of the computer for long hours. You may start to notice that your body posture is changing as your shoulders and back slightly get hunched. Not only does it look unattractive, it will also get painful around the neck, shoulder, upper and lower back. It is important to fix your body posture as it aligns everything in your body.
These are the yoga poses that will fix your body postures that lengthen your spine and stretch your body.
Downward Facing Dog
This is a great pose that work effectively on stretching and lengthening your spine. It also opens your shoulders and reverses the hunched over look. Straighten your legs with hips lifted towards the ceiling while your hands are adjusted forward. Keep your head and neck aligned with your spine and hold for 1min.
Cobra Pose
Lie on your stomach and engage your back muscle to lift your head and upper torso. Keep your elbows aligned underneath your shoulders for support. Open your chest and relax your shoulders. Look straight ahead while you hold for 1 minute.
Planks
Strong core is the key to a good posture. When done correctly, planks strengthen your core as they also work on your back and shoulders. Make sure that your shoulders are away from your ears, and your wrists are underneath your shoulder. Your body should be in a straight line. Hold for 1 minute.
Upward Plank Pose
This pose strengthens your wrists, arms, shoulders and spine. It also stretched the chest, abdomen, and thighs. Place your hands a bit behind your hip as you lift it up as high as you can. If you have serious wrist, shoulder or neck problems practice this pose under the guidance of a professional trainer.
